Inter Milan have extended their unbeaten run to five matches after claiming a 1-0 win over Torino in Serie A at the San Siro.
Ciro Immobile had a great chance to give his side the lead early on when a loose ball fell to him in the box, but he could only fire his strike over the bar.
Rodrigo Palacio had Inter's first real opportunity midway through the first half when his header from Fredy Guarin's cross was beaten away by Daniele Padelli.
In the 30th minute the home side took the lead. Esteban Cambiasso chipped a pass over the top for Palacio which the striker met to loop a header over the keeper and into the far corner.
Hernanes came close to scoring a second five minutes before the end of the first half when he latched onto a loose ball outside the box and drilled an effort just wide of the post.
Torino came close to equalising at the beginning of the second half when Immobile's strike took a deflection and had to be turned around the post by Samir Handanovic.
Alessio Cerci was next to threaten for the visitors, but his curling effort was comfortably held by the keeper.
Torino continued to create chances and Migjen Basha was inches away from finding the net when his snap-shot from long range whistled just wide of the post.
Just past the hour mark Palacio squandered a chance to grab his second of the afternoon. He was found unmarked by Hernanes following a free kick, but fired his strike over the bar.
With 10 minutes left to play, Hernanes created a good chance for himself, as he worked space to shoot inside the box before firing narrowly wide.
Omar El Kaddouri came close to scoring an equaliser in stoppage time, but he could only drill his strike wide of the post, as Inter held on to claim the three points.
