Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala have issued a statement rejecting claims that they have bid for Inter Milan duo Wesley Sneijder and Maicon.
It had been reported that Sneijder, 28, rejected the chance to sign for the cash-rich outfit this summer, while 30-year-old Maicon is also understood to have followed suit.
However, the Russian Premier League club have denied that they are in the running for the Nerazzurri pair.
"In connection with the rumours in numerous media outlets that Anzhi are in negotiations with Wesley Sneijder and Maicon, we would like to report that this information is completely unfounded," the statement read.
"The club have not been conducting any negotiations for the transition of these players to our team. All real acquisitions and contracts completed by the club will be announced in a timely manner to both the fans and the media."
Anzhi signed Samuel Eto'o from Inter last summer.
