Inter Milan defender Davide Santon has reportedly opened talks with Sunderland ahead of a possible return to the Premier League.
Between 2011 and 2015, Santon represented Newcastle United before he made the switch back to Inter, the club where he began his professional career.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Sunderland have made an approach for the full-back after he made just 11 starts for the Italian giants last season.
The 25-year-old had previously been linked with Crystal Palace but with the Eagles seemingly not following up their initial interest, Sunderland appear to be favourites to sign the versatile defender.
