Half-Time Report: Ipswich Town held by struggling Bristol City

Bristol City frustrate Ipswich Town to reach half time on level terms at Portman Road.

Ipswich Town are level at half time against Bristol City, despite having chances to edge in front at Portman Road.

The Robins, who started the game second from bottom in the Championship, almost made a perfect start when Aaron Wilbraham teed up summer signing Jonathan Kodjia, but the Frenchman's effort was saved by Dean Gerken.

Ipswich had an early chance of their own when Jonas Knudsen produced a pinpoint cross for Daryl Murphy only for the forward's headed effort to be stopped by Frank Fielding.

However, the Tractor Boys almost conceded within seconds as City broke out of defence before Mark Little found Kodjia, whose strike drifted narrowly wide.

On the half-hour mark, Steve Cotterill's men nearly fell behind in comical fashion as Aden Flint knocked the ball towards his own net before Fielding recovered the situation to keep the Robins on level terms.

Before the interval, Cole Skuse and Murphy had efforts blocked before Christophe Berra headed wide of the target as City managed to hang on.
