Ipswich Town captain Carlos Edwards has admitted that his side gave Watford "too much respect" during yesterday's 2-0 defeat at Portman Road.
Goals either side of half time from Ikechi Anya and Nathaniel Chalobah sealed the victory for the visiting Hornets, which in turn kept Ipswich in relegation trouble.
"Things didn't go according to plan for us and they capitalised on that," Edwards is quoted as saying by the East Anglian Daily Times. "Once we went 1-0 down we then realised we had to get the ball in behind them more and not give them the space to play out as they like.
"I think we gave them a bit too much respect in that department and the second goal, after we had come into the game, was perhaps the final nail in the coffin."
The Tractor Boys are now 18th in the Championship table.
