Ipswich boss Paul Jewell insists that he will face up to the challenge of the club and will not quit.

Ipswich Town manager Paul Jewell has insisted that he will not walk away from the club.

Jewell's future has come under scrutiny after a poor run of form that has seen them win just once so far this season.

This afternoon's 2-1 loss at home to Charlton merely exacerbated a situation that Jewell is aware of, but refuses to walk away from.

"I'm annoyed and I know I'm not very popular at the minute," Jewell said. "But I'm not going to run and hide.

"It's not nice and it's a horrendous place to be (second from bottom). But all I can do, and all I will do, is keep doing my job to the best of my ability; until I'm told otherwise.

"I'm not going to quit. It's not an easy situation but I'm not going to chuck it in."

Some bookmakers have already stopped taking bets as to who Jewell's successor will be, with the favourite being Harry Redknapp.
