Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy happy with "great victory" over Watford

Ipswich Town's late victory over Watford is a "huge result" in their quest for promotion, according to manager Mick McCarthy.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has praised his side for securing a "huge result" with victory away at Watford yesterday.

Richard Chaplow scored a dramatic late winner for the Tractor Boys to send them back into the top six of the Championship table.

McCarthy told BBC Sport: "With seven games to go, it's a huge result for us, it's fabulous and we're back in the top six. I thought it was a really top tactical performance as much as anything against a team that try and play through you.

"We had to change a couple of times to accommodate them and I thought we did it particularly well. It's a great victory in the last minute and it's a great finish by Chappers. I thought all the subs contributed really well today."

Ipswich next face leaders Bournemouth on April 3.
