Mick McCarthy hails "terrific" Ipswich Town after Blackpool victory

Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy hails his side for putting in a "terrific performance" during their 2-0 win away to Blackpool in the Championship.

Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy has praised his team for their "terrific performance" during Saturday's 2-0 win at Blackpool.

Goals either side of half time from David McGoldrick and Daryl Murphy helped the Tractor Boys move up to eighth place in the Championship table with a first victory in five games.

"I think it was terrific performance. It was a solid performance and we had to withstand a bit of an onslaught as well at times," McCarthy is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"Their two strikers, Nile Ranger and Ishmael Miller, they're a handful them. Nathan Delfouneso too. There's lots of them that have been places and been thought highly of."

Ipswich continue their Championship campaign on Tuesday when they entertain McCarthy's former club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
