Preview: Ipswich Town vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

Sports Mole looks ahead to Ipswich Town's Championship clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on New Year's Day.

Ipswich Town can extend their unbeaten home run to six games on New Year's Day when they face Brighton & Hove Albion at Portman Road.

The Tractor Boys, who have only managed to defeat the Seagulls in two of their last nine attempts, are languishing in 19th position in the Championship table.

However, they go into this match on a high after recording back-to-back away wins over Charlton Athletic and Wolves.

Brighton sit 10th, despite being on a five-match winless run, which has included three draws.

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy is likely to stick with the same team that earned their 2-0 victory at Molineux.

Meanwhile, Brighton may opt to rest Andrea Orlandi, as the midfielder, who had been out for five weeks with a rib injury, complained about shortness of breath following Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Watford.
