Ipswich Town have reportedly told Championship rivals Middlesbrough that they will only accept a £5m bid for Daryl Murphy.
Boro are in need of a striker this summer having seen loanees Patrick Bamford and Jelle Vossen leave the club, and they have been heavily linked with Republic of Ireland international Murphy.
The 32-year-old had his best season in front of goal last term by netting 27 times in the Championship - six more than anyone else in the second tier.
According to Sky Sports News, Boro have made a £4m bid for the former Sunderland man, but Ipswich are holding out for a fee of £5m.
Murphy, who is reportedly settled and happy in Suffolk, has one year left on his Ipswich contract.
