Reza Ghoochannejhad: 'We have nothing to lose against Argentina'

Iran striker Reza Ghoochannejhad insists that his team have nothing to lose when they face Argentina in the World Cup finals on Saturday.

Iran striker Reza Ghoochannejhad has admitted that his team will need to show resilience if they are to stand any chance of securing a result against Argentina.

The World Cup minnows got their campaign off to a solid start as they drew 0-0 with Nigeria on Monday, but Ghoochannejhad has insisted that they must deliver the same kind of performance to have any hope of upsetting the former champions.

The 26-year-old is quoted by FIFA.com as saying: "We have to enjoy it and follow the coach's instructions to the letter. We've got absolutely nothing to lose in this match.

"Argentina are among the favourites this year, while the same can't be said for us. All the pressure will be on their shoulders and we will have to show our resilience, like against Nigeria."

Iran have won just one of their 10 matches at a World Cup finals.
