Italy defender Leonardo Spinazzola could reportedly be facing up to four months on the sidelines after coming off on a stretcher against Belgium at Euro 2020.
The Roma man has played a starring role for the Azzurri at the summer's continental tournament and started his fourth game of the competition in Friday's quarter-final.
However, Spinazzola lasted 79 minutes of the encounter before suffering a serious injury and had to be stretchered off the field before Italy held on to win 2-1 and reach the semi-finals.
According to Sky Italia, the left-back has suffered a suspected torn Achilles tendon, which has already ruled him out of the rest of Euro 2020 and possibly the first few months of next season.
The report adds that Spinazzola will undergo surgery upon his return to Rome, and he is not expected to be back in action until November at the earliest.
The 28-year-old claimed one assist from four appearances at Euro 2020, and Roberto Mancini must work around his absence for their semi-final with Spain.
