Japan enter their Group D clash with Honduras as one of just two sides – the other Brazil - who currently boast a 100% record in the competition.
Victories over Spain and Morocco booked their spot in the latter stages, while they could be joined by their opponents depending on results elsewhere.
Honduras recorded a shock 1-0 win over Spain on Sunday to move onto four points, and they will progress if they can draw on Wednesday.
A defeat could also be enough to see them advance, providing that Morocco do not beat Spain in Group D's other clash.
Japan are expected to name the same side that beat Morocco, with Kensuke Nagai likely to keep his spot in the starting XI.
Meanwhile, Jerry Bengston will continue in attack for Honduras, looking to add to his three goals in two games thus far.
Possible lineups:
Japan: Gonda; Tokunaga, Sakai, Yoshida, Suzuki; Ogihara, Higashi, Yamaguchi; Otsu, Nagai, Kiyotake
Honduras: Mendoza; Leveron, Velasquez, Lopez, Figueroa; Peralta, Martinez; Mejia, Espinoza, Najar; Bengston
