Juventus assistant manager Angelo Alessio has expressed his delight at his side's qualification to the last 16 of the Champions League.

An Olexander Kucher own goal saw the Italians defeat Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 and reach the knockout phase of the competition.

"We are happy for this win, for the qualification and to be first of our group. We are now happy that coach Antonio Conte will come back [from his ban]," he told Sky Sports News.

"We were conscious of Shakhtar's strength. Having won here gives us a big pride. We have won a difficult game."

When asked which team he hopes to draw in the next phase, Alessio admitted that he is hoping to avoid Real Madrid.

He added: "Preferences for our possible next opponents? It's clear in this moment there are all important clubs. I'd avoid only Real Madrid."
