Juventus are into the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia thanks to Wednesday night's 2-0 win over Genoa in the last 16 of the competition at the Juventus Stadium.

Juventus have reached the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia thanks to a 2-0 win over Genoa at the Allianz Stadium.

Paulo Dybala ended his goal drought by opening the scoring for the hosts in the 42nd minute before Gonzalo Higuain doubled the lead in the 76th minute to make sure of victory for Juve.

Federico Bernardeschi was heavily involved in the opening stages as he flashed an effort past the far post early on before setting up Douglas Costa, who forced a fingertip save from Eugenio Lamanna.

The Italy international then hit the side-netting and forced an acrobatic save from Lamanna from a free kick, while Claudio Marchisio fired a half-volley over the bar.

Eventually the breakthrough came from Dybala, who turned on the edge of the box before rifling the ball into the near-bottom corner.

Substitute Higuain doubled Juve's lead after latching onto a Dybala assist, bursting between two defenders to drill into far bottom corner from just inside the penalty area.

The Bianconeri go on to face city rivals Torino in the quarter-final on January 3, after the Granata claimed a 2-1 win over Roma on Wednesday night.

Juventus (4-3-3): Szczesny; Lichtsteiner (Chiellini 73'), Barzagli, Rugani, Asamoah; Marchisio, Bentancur, Sturaro; Costa (Higuain 61'), Dybala, Bernardeschi (Matuidi 86')
