Former Juventus striker Gianluca Vialli has heaped praise upon the club's current crop of players after they clinched a third consecutive league title yesterday.

The Bianconeri led the way for the vast majority of the Serie A season, eventually wrapping up their 30th top-flight title thanks to Roma's surprise 4-1 defeat at the hands of Catania.

Vialli paid tribute to Roma for running his former club close, but believes that manager Antonio Conte has his best squad yet at his disposal and hailed the whole club for their part in the achievement.

"Talent is enough to win once. But in order to win again, you need character. To win three titles in a row, you have to be monstrous. Talent alone is not enough to make you monstrous," Vialli told La Repubblica.

"The club directors, the coach, the history of Juventus, training and the unity within the camp have all been key for this achievement. Consistency is everything.

"I said at the beginning of the season that for Juve to win a third successive Scudetto, it would take Conte's best team yet and that's what ended up happening. Juve have been pushed as Roma have been fantastic but I repeat, Juve have been monstrous."

Having clinched a hat-trick of titles for the first time in their history, Juventus are now looking to become the first team to amass 100 points in a single Serie A season.
