Last-gasp Juan Cuadrado strike wins Torino derby for Juventus

Juan Cuadrado's injury-time winner secures a 2-1 victory for Juventus over local rivals Torino in a pulsating Serie A clash at Juventus Stadium.

Juan Cuadrado's goal in the third minute of stoppage time has secured a 2-1 victory for Juventus over Torino in the first Turin derby of the season at Juventus Stadium.

The hosts started the match three points behind their rivals after a poor start to their Serie A title defence but they began the match on top and saw Paul Pogba smash an effort from 25 yards straight at Daniele Padelli.

After 19 minutes the Frenchman produced a moment of magic to opening the scoring when, after Paulo Dybala had dummied over Cuadrado's ball infield, he took one touch before lifting the bouncing ball over the goalkeeper's head from 25 yards to put Juve ahead amid a cacophony of noise.

The visitors responded well to the setback, however, and former Bianconeri man Fabio Quagliarella stabbed wide from close range moments after he had dragged a free kick off-target as they looked to get a foothold in the match.

Dybala curled narrowly wide of the post as the hosts went for a second before the break, but they were lucky to reach half time with a lead as Quagliarella's shot from Cristian Molinaro's shot was blocked on the goalline before being scrambled clear.

Juve had not lost at home since the opening day of the season and had won their last two in front of their own fans, but both of those records were threatened just six minutes into the second half.

Cesare Bovo's free kick hit the wall but when the rebound fell back to him, he lashed the ball into the roof of the net from 20 yards to stun the home fans and wipe out the lead.

Minutes later Gianluigi Buffon had to make a fine instinctive save to prevent Kamil Glik heading Torino into the lead from a corner as a shellshocked Juve struggled to cope with their rivals' increased confidence.

Buffon produced another crucial stop to deny Glik again with 14 minutes remaining in an end-to-end finale, before Juventus came within inches of winning it in the dying moments.

Leonardo Bonucci's flick-on from a deep free kick came back off the crossbar with Padelli beaten, but the goalkeeper reacted well to deny Claudio Marchisio's scuffed rebound on the goalline.

However, Torino's hopes of escaping with a point were dashed in cruel fashion when Cuadrado was in the right place to turn home Alex Sandro's low cross and send Juventus fans wild with virtually the last kick of the game.
