Massimiliano Allegri refuses to rule out move for Antonio Cassano

Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri refuses to rule out the possibility of a move for free agent Antonio Cassano.

Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri has refused to rule out a move for free agent Antonio Cassano.

A long dispute with Parma over unpaid wages finally came to an end on Monday as Cassano and the club agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent, and the forward has already been linked with a number of sides in Serie A.

Allegri previously worked with the 32-year-old when the two were at AC Milan, and he admits that his availability has caught the club's attention.

"I don't talk about players from other teams, although at the moment Cassano is no longer in another team," the Juventus boss told reporters. "At the moment we have five strikers in attack, and at the moment no-one else has come in.

"Cassano is a player I coached at Milan, who fortunately was crucial in the Scudetto race. He's a player who has great quality on a technical level.

"I only speak about the players I have available, and then those who arrive I'll speak to when they get here. We'll see what opportunities there are before doing anything else, but we're alert to that, we don't need to worry and we can just think about the next game, which is tomorrow."

Cassano scored five goals in 19 Serie A appearances this season before his Parma exit.
