Lazio forward Miroslav Klose has been ruled out for at least two weeks after undergoing minor surgery on a foot injury.
The 35-year-old Germany international went under the knife after suffering a recurrence of inflammation around the metatarsal bones in his right foot.
Lazio expect to have Klose back in time for their trip to Atalanta on October 20.
Klose has found the net once in four Serie A games so far this season.
He also got on the scoresheet during his country's 3-0 win over Austria earlier this month, equalling Gerd Muller's national goalscoring record in the process.
