Stefano Pioli ready for "very important" Sampdoria clash

Stefano Pioli says that he wants Lazio to return to winning ways when they face Sampdoria in Serie A on Monday evening.

Lazio manager Stefano Pioli has claimed that his side's meeting with Sampdoria on Monday evening is their "most important" of the season.

The Biancocelesti had enjoyed a promising start to the campaign, but they have come under intense pressure from supporters after losing six of their last eight league games.

"It is a very, very important game, the most important of the season so far. We want to get back to winning ways and turn the tide," Pioli told reporters.

"I am convinced it won't take much to get that spark, that turning point to rediscover my team. Small things can make the difference.

"I want more concentration in defence, more determination in attack and then we can change the course of the campaign. I've seen such motivation and focus in training this week, so I just want that attitude replicated on the field tomorrow for the full 90 minutes."

Lazio are currently 12th in the Serie A table.
