Saturday's Championship predictions including Bristol City vs. Leeds

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Championship fixtures, including Bristol City vs. Leeds.

Aiming to crack the automatic promotion spots at the top of the Championship table, Leeds United will travel to Ashton Gate to take on Bristol City on Saturday.

The visitors currently sit level on points with second-placed Burnley thanks to consecutive victories and a six-match unbeaten streak, while their hosts have also not lost any of their last six outings.

We say: Bristol City 1-2 Leeds United

Bristol City certainly have the tools to cause Leeds United problems, but with momentum growing in Daniel Farke's side, we see the visitors being too strong at Ashton Gate and returning to Yorkshire with a third straight three-point haul.

Coventry vs. Luton (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Aiming to end October with a much-needed victory, Coventry City will welcome recently-relegated Luton Town to the Coventry Building Society Arena for a Championship battle on Saturday afternoon.

The Sky Blues secured a share of the points at the home of Queens Park Rangers last time out, whilst the Hatters were the latest victims of league leaders Sunderland.

We say: Coventry City 1-1 Luton Town

Following a frustrating share of the point at Loftus Road, Coventry will be looking to take advantage of a winnable home fixture on Saturday ahead of trips to Sunderland and Middlesbrough over the next few weeks.

The Hatters were unfortunate to lose to the Black Cats last time out and should be good enough to earn a point in the East Midlands this weekend.

Watford vs. Blackburn (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Watford play host to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon with just three points separating the teams in the Championship standings.

At a time when the Hornets occupy ninth place in the table, Rovers have recently gotten back on track to move into sixth position.

We say: Watford 2-1 Blackburn Rovers

Although these teams have been going in different directions in the table since last weekend, we cannot ignore Watford's outstanding home form. With that in mind, we are backing Cleverley's side to get back on track with a hard-fought win.

Burnley vs. QPR (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Manager of Burnley Scott Parker on August 31, 2024© Imago

Looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship to nine matches, Burnley will host relegation-threatened Queens Park Rangers at Turf Moor for a second-tier clash on Saturday afternoon.

The Clarets managed a respectable share of the spoils at Hull City earlier in the week, whilst the R's fought back to earn a point against Coventry City in the capital.

We say: Burnley 1-0 Queens Park Rangers

Striving to make it nine matches unbeaten in the Championship, Burnley should be confident of putting a struggling QPR side to the sword at Turf Moor.

The R's improved in the second half versus Coventry to snatch a point, but we cannot envisage the visitors earning anything for their efforts in Lancashire on Saturday.

Derby vs. Hull City (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Derby County manager Paul Warne on September 21, 2024© Imago

Two sides separated by a single point in the middle of the Championship table will do battle at Pride Park on Saturday, as Derby County welcome Hull City.

The teams each played out draws in midweek, leaving the hosts 12th on 14 points and the visitors 15th in a tight mid-table.

We say: Derby County 2-1 Hull City

With Derby County having excelled at home so far this season and the visitors yet to truly click under Tim Walter, we back Derby County to earn another three points and continue their pleasing start to the term.

Plymouth vs. Preston (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Preston North End manager Paul Heckingbottom on August 08, 2024© Imago

Plymouth Argyle will be eager to get back on track on Saturday afternoon when they play host to Preston North End at Home Park.

At a time when the Pilgrims sit in 21st position in the Championship standings, the visitors have recently progressed into 16th place.

We say: Plymouth Argyle 1-1 Preston North End

Although Plymouth are very much on the ropes right now, their form is far better in front of their own supporters. With that in mind, we are backing Rooney's men to earn a share of the spoils against an improving Preston outfit.

Sheff Utd vs. Stoke (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder on September 21, 2024© Imago

Aiming to bounce back from consecutive defeats and move back towards the top two in the Championship table, Sheffield United will welcome Stoke City to Bramall Lane on Saturday.

The hosts have suffered their first two league losses of the season following the recent international break, while their visitors sit 17th in the midst of a four-match unbeaten streak.

We say: Sheffield United 1-0 Stoke City

Sheffield United's confidence will certainly have taken a dent after consecutive defeats ended their strong start to the campaign, but the Blades' strong defensive record, particularly at home, should see them to a return to winning ways at the weekend.

Sunderland vs. Oxford Utd (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris pictured on August 18, 2024© Imago

Sunderland play host to Oxford United on Saturday afternoon looking to strengthen their position at the top of the Championship standings.

While the Black Cats hold a three-point advantage at the summit, the visitors to the Stadium of Light are currently in 11th position.

We say: Sunderland 2-1 Oxford United

With Oxford proving difficult to beat of late, they will fancy their chances of continuing their unbeaten run in the North-East. Nevertheless, we cannot back against the Black Cats, whose extra quality in the final third may lead to them prevailing by the odd goal in three.

Swansea vs. Millwall (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Swansea City manager Luke Williams on April 27, 2024© Imago

Swansea City and Millwall square off in South Wales on Saturday afternoon with both clubs sitting in the mid-table positions in the Championship standings.

Although the teams are 14th and 13th place respectively, it is the visitors who head into this contest with more momentum.

We say: Swansea City 1-1 Millwall

Everything points to this contest being a low-scoring affair, unless Swansea finally find their shooting boots. We feel obliged to back a share of the spoils, one that will not necessarily suit either side.

West Brom vs. Cardiff (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Aiming to halt a five-game winless run in the second tier, West Bromwich Albion will welcome a resurgent Cardiff City side to The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon for a Championship clash.

The Baggies were forced to settle for a point at the home of Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night, whilst the Bluebirds' good form under the stewardship of an interim manager continued a day earlier.

We say: West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Cardiff City

After a solid performance on the road versus Blackburn, West Brom will be targeting the visit of Cardiff as a good chance to get back to winning ways.

The Bluebirds have soared high in South Wales over the past week but are likely to struggle at the home of the Baggies on Saturday afternoon.
