Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Championship fixtures, including Leeds United vs. Burnley.

Two of the favourites for promotion are set to lock horns at Elland Road on Saturday, when Leeds United host recently-relegated Burnley in a tasty-looking Championship battle.

The Whites appear to be back on track following a slight wobble during the opening fortnight of the campaign, whereas Burnley are striving for a return to winning ways.

We say: Leeds United 2-1 Burnley

After a shaky opening two matches, Leeds have looked like genuine top-two contenders and will be confident of recording a third straight Championship win at Elland Road this weekend.

Burnley are not as strong as there were when they destroyed this division under Kompany, so we are expecting a narrow defeat for Parker's troops against a promotional rival.

Millwall vs. Luton (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Looking to build on a convincing home success prior to the international break, Millwall will welcome recently-relegated Luton Town to The Den for a tasty-looking Championship clash on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions have struggled with inconsistency at the beginning of the campaign, whilst the Hatters are seemingly hungover from their Premier League adventures during the 2023-24 season.

We say: Millwall 1-0 Luton Town

With a recently-relegated side arriving at The Den this weekend, Millwall should be raring to put in an aggressive performance against a faltering Luton outfit.

The Hatters undoubtedly possess the talent to hurt the Lions on Saturday, but we feel that Rob Edwards's troops will slump to their fourth defeat of the league campaign.

Oxford Utd vs. Stoke (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Oxford United and Stoke City return to Championship action on Saturday afternoon looking for the victory that will move either of them towards the top six in the standings.

These two sides are currently sitting in ninth and 11th position respectively courtesy of having accumulated six points from their first four matches.

We say: Oxford United 2-2 Stoke City

Oxford will head into this contest with every expectation that they will make it three successive wins at the Kassam Stadium. However, we are backing the visitors to earn a share of the spoils in what we anticipate being an entertaining encounter.

Blackburn vs. Bristol City (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Blackburn Rovers play host to Bristol City on Saturday afternoon looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship to five matches.

At a time when the home side sit in fifth position in the standings, the visitors to Ewood Park are in 14th spot after seeing their own undefeated streak come to an end before the international break.

We say: Blackburn Rovers 2-1 Bristol City

With Bristol City extra motivated to bounce back from their heavy defeat to Derby, we expect them to run Blackburn close on Saturday. However, the home side have only impressed this campaign and that could continue at the weekend.

Derby vs. Cardiff (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Derby County play host to Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon looking to build on their positive start to life back in the Championship.

At a time when the Rams sit in 10th position in the standings, Cardiff are bottom having collected just the one point from their four matches.

We say: Derby County 2-1 Cardiff City

With Cardiff's only point having come on their travels, they will feel that they have the capabilities of ending their dismal run here. However, Derby appear to be growing in confidence and that could prove decisive if the game is close at the business end.

Middlesbrough vs. Preston (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Middlesbrough play host to Preston North End on Saturday afternoon looking to build on their positive start to the season.

At a time when Boro occupy seventh position in the Championship standings, Preston are down in 21st place after already posting three defeats.

We say: Middlesbrough 2-1 Preston North End

Heckingbottom will feel that his side are better prepared for the next stretch of matches after the international break. Nevertheless, Boro will back themselves to add another home victory to their tally, even if they are made to work hard for it.

Aiming to continue their flawless start to the 2024-25 league campaign, Sunderland will make the long trip down to Home Park to face strugglers Plymouth Argyle in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The Black Cats have enjoyed a blistering beginning to competitive action following the summer break, whilst the Green Army are still finding their feet under new management.

We say: Plymouth Argyle 1-3 Sunderland

Plymouth have the attacking talent to hurt Sunderland in the form of Whittaker, but the Pilgrims' defensive frailties under Rooney are set to seriously hinder their chances of victory on the weekend.

The Championship's in-form outfit arrive to Home Park on Saturday, when the purring Black Cats should bulldoze their way to another second-tier success.

Sheff Weds vs. QPR (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Both looking for their second wins of the 2024-25 league season, Sheffield Wednesday and Queens Park Rangers will meet at Hillsborough for a Championship clash on Saturday afternoon.

The Owls endured a difficult afternoon on the road prior to the international break, whilst the R's managed a statement success at the home of a recently-relegated side.

We say: Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Queens Park Rangers

Sheffield Wednesday have lost each of their last three Championship matches by an aggregate scoreline of 9-0, so it might wise for home supporters at Hillsborough to prepare for the worst this weekend.

That being said, the Owls have shown the ability to produce an excellent home display already this season, meaning that we are expecting a share of the points versus QPR.

Swansea vs. Norwich (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Swansea City and Norwich City square off in South Wales on Saturday afternoon looking to kick-start their Championship promotion bids.

Both sides currently sit in the bottom half of the standings having each only won one of their opening four fixtures.

We say: Swansea City 1-1 Norwich City

Having surprised Coventry last time out, Norwich are arguably the favourites for this contest. However, with Swansea unbeaten at their home ground, we are backing them to earn a share of the spoils in a low-scoring match.

Looking to return to winning ways following a maiden defeat last time out, Watford will welcome playoff-chasing Coventry City to Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon in the Championship.

The Hornets narrowly lost out at the home of Sheffield United prior to the international break, whilst the Sky Blues were defeated by Norwich City on home soil.

We say: Watford 2-1 Coventry City

Watford have been formidable at Vicarage Road so far this season, winning four straight matches across all competitions by an aggregate scoreline of 12-1.

As a result, the Hornets should be extremely confident of dealing with the threat of Coventry this weekend, so we are expecting a narrow win for the hosts.
