Half-Time Report: No goals at Elland Road

Leeds United remain level with Sheffield Wednesday following a goalless first half in their Yorkshire derby at Elland Road.

Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday have headed into half time level after playing out a goalless first half in the Yorkshire derby at Elland Road this afternoon.

The home side applied the pressure early on, with Tommaso Bianchi picking out Alex Mowatt, but his pass was comfortably claimed by Kieren Westwood.

Mowatt was involved again a few minutes later as he tried to set up Souleymane Doukara, but the striker's finish went just wide of the post.

Rodolph Austin forced Westwood into action when he unleashed a powerful strike from 30 yards out, but the Wednesday keeper kept it out with a diving save.

Mirco Antenucci found the back of the net shortly before the break, but the goal was not given as the striker was offside as the ball was played forward.

Stevie May had the best chance of the half for the visitors late on, heading inches wide from a Christopher Maguire cross to leave the sides all square at the break.
