Leeds United midfielder Zan Benedicic has been ruled out until 2015 after undergoing knee surgery.
The 19-year-old joined the Championship club from AC Milan on a season-long loan in the summer.
He made two substitute appearances for the Elland Road outfit in August but has not played since because of a damaged meniscus.
Benedicic has had surgery on the problem in Belgium and will return to England next week to begin his recovery.
The Slovenian, who signed for Milan in 2011, has been capped six times at Under-21 level.
