Uwe Rosler talks up Kalvin Phillips potential

Uwe Rosler declares himself pleased with the point gained by Leeds United in their stalemate against Reading at the Madejski Stadium.

Leeds United boss Uwe Rosler has reserved special praise for Kalvin Phillips and Chris Woods after seeing his side hold Reading to a goalless draw.

The Whites maintained their unbeaten start to the new campaign with a drab stalemate at the Madejski Stadium.

Despite Leeds registering just one shot on goal, Rosler was happy with the performances of both Woods and 19-year-old Phillips.

"[Phillips] has potential, he put in a solid performance in midfield today," the former Wigan Athletic chief told reporters. "[Woods's] hold-up play was excellent, particularly in the first half. He will get his goals, don't worry.

"We will take the point, the players dug deep today. They're still young and learning the game. Not many teams will take over 4,000 supporters away on a Sunday afternoon. They helped us today."

Leeds return to Championship action in midweek with a trip to take on Bristol City.
