Henri Lansbury's second-half goal sees Aston Villa come from behind to earn a point at Leeds United.

Aston Villa have missed the chance to move into third place in the Championship table, despite Henri Lansbury's 71st-minute strike earning them a share of the spoils at Leeds United.

The Whites, who started the game just outside the playoff places, started positively with Samuel Saiz having an early shot blocked before Pablo Hernandez blazed over the bar soon after.

Leeds made the breakthrough on 19 minutes when Pontus Jansson rose highest to head home Hernandez's corner from six yards out.

Glenn Whelan tried to pull his side level just after the half-hour mark, but the Irishman's strike flew wide of Felix Wiedwald's goal.

Villa, without the injured John Terry in defence, continued to push for an equaliser, with Albert Adomah failing to beat Wiedwald with an early second-half shot.

The visitors finally restored parity with 19 minutes left when Jack Grealish teed up Lansbury, whose low shot from the edge of the area found the bottom corner of the Leeds net.

In the end, despite plenty of bluster from both sides, the game ended in a draw, which sees Villa remain in fourth place and Leeds in seventh.
