Neil Warnock claims his first victory as manager of Leeds United away at Middlesbrough.

Neil Warnock picked up his first victory as manager of Leeds United away at Middlesbrough this afternoon.

Visiting Leeds controlled large part of the opening exchanges and went on to break the deadlock in the 18th minute. Aiden White pulled the ball back to edge of the area for Snodgrass, whose first time effort went underneath Middlesbrough goalkeeper Jason Steele.

Leeds doubled their advantage nine minutes later courtesy of Argentine striker Luciano Becchio. Ross McCormack capitalised on a slip from home defender Justin Hoyte to square for Becchio, who rolled the ball into an unguarded net.

As the half drew to a close Becchio had a good chance to grab a third for Leeds, but he shot over from a narrow angle.

The away side continued to dominate after the break, without creating much in the way of goalscoring chances. The closest they came to another goal saw Adam Clayton's effort from distance deflect onto the roof of the net.

Middlesbrough's misery was compounded late in the match when midfielder Barry Robson was dismissed following a tussle with Clayton.

The victory has moved Leeds to within four points of the top six.
