Carpi president Stefano Bonacini has encouraged Jerry Mbakogu to complete a move to Leeds United.
Earlier this season, the Championship outfit failed to seal a deal for the Nigerian attacker but it now appears that an agreement is in place between the two clubs.
Mbakogu has scored six times in 25 outings in Serie B this season, but Bonacini has suggested that he would like to see the player make the switch to Elland Road.
Bonacini told RMC Sport Network: "Mbakogu should go to Leeds. He deserves a chance on an important stage – the second tier in England is not the Italian Serie B.
"He is ready to have an adventure in England."
A fee of £4m has previously been mentioned for Leeds to finalise the transfer.
