The 18-year-old, who has been at Elland Road for nine years, has impressed for the Under-21s in recent weeks.
Leeds development coach Neil Redfearn told the club's official website: "I think we will see a lot more of Chris Dawson. He has great feet and is a football athlete, which is what we're looking at in the academy."
Dawson's contract will run until 2015.
