Leeds United are reportedly in discussions with Metz over a potential deal for Farid Boulaya.
The 28-year-old has made 107 appearances for his current side over the last three years, scoring 14 times and contributing 18 assists in the process.
Last term, the attacker scored six times and registered eight assists in 33 Ligue 1 appearances, but he is expected to move on during this summer's transfer window.
According to French journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter, Leeds are in talks over a potential €4.5m (£3.9m) deal for the Algeria international, who only has 12 months left to run on his contract.
However, Toubache-Ter claims that one club from Italy and another from Spain are also rivalling Leeds for the attacker's signature during this summer's transfer window.
Boulaya is capable of operating in a number of different positions in the final third of the field, playing as a left-sided attacker, right-sided attacker, attacking midfielder and centre-forward at club level last term.
