Leeds United boss Steve Evans hopeful of four loan signings

Leeds United boss Steve Evans is hopeful that his side can sign four players on loan to help his struggling team before the deadline later this month.

Leeds United boss Steve Evans has revealed that he is hopeful his side can bring in four players before the loan deadline later this month.

The Whites have struggled immensely in the Championship this season and sacked manager Uwe Rosler two weeks ago, replacing him with the Scot, who has failed to record a victory in the opening three matches of his tenure.

However, Evans believes that improving the squad with short-term moves could change their fortunes in the second tier.

"We have to get better than what we've got, you have to evaluate that and evaluate what we need. You can't go out and bring eight or nine players in," he told reporters.

"We have said we need three or four before the loan window closes and we are working hard towards that. They have certainly been enough calls made by myself and [head of recruitment] Martyn Glover to key people at other football clubs.

"We have had joy, certainly with the one today and another we have had joy because it's Leeds United that have picked the phone up."

Leeds are 19th in the Championship after 14 matches this season.
