Half-Time Report: Fernando Forestieri, Sean Murray give Watford lead

Leicester City trail against Watford at half time in the Championship clash at the King Power Stadium.

Watford are halfway to a surprise win against runaway Championship leaders Leicester City at the King Power Stadium after goals from Fernando Forestieri and Sean Murray put them ahead at half time.

The visitors started the brighter of the two sides when Daniel Tozser's free kick found Marouane Faraoni, who snuck in ahead of the Foxes' defence, but headed his effort wide.

Moments later the Hornets, with only two wins in 16 games prior to today, were ahead when Troy Deeney's shot at goal fell into the path of Forestieri and the Argentine forward diverted the ball beyond Kasper Schmiechel.

The goal appeared to spark Leicester into life as first Marcin Wasilewski and then Jamie Vardy saw their efforts go close.

However, Watford continued their positive opening and Troy Deeney squandered a good chance to double the visitors' lead when he latched on to a loose ball only to blaze his subsequent shot high and wide.

Nigel Pearson's men tried to find a way back into the game and were almost on level terms when Lloyd Dyer played a one-two with Danny Drinkwater and crossed for David Nugent, but the former England striker hooked his over Manuel Almunia's goal.

However, it was the Hornets who increased their lead when Ikechi Anya set up Murray, whose shot from the edge of the box was too good for Schmeichel.

The Foxes managed to pull a goal back before the interval when Matty James swept home Ritchie De Laet's cross to give the hosts hope of keeping their winning run, which is currently 10 matches, intact.

Leicester came into this game knowing they could increase their lead over second-placed Queens Park Rangers to 13 points with a win.
