Claudio Ranieri hopeful over N'Golo Kante injury blow

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri admits that potentially losing N'Golo Kante to a hamstring injury will be a real blow to his side's title hopes.

Claudio Ranieri has admitted that he is hopeful the hamstring injury picked up by N'Golo Kante will prove to be "nothing serious" in Leicester City's title run-in.

The 24-year-old, who has been a key figure for the Foxes this season, limped off after 70 minutes of Saturday's narrow 1-0 win over Norwich City.

Kante now faces the prospect of missing a league game for the first time since joining City from Caen in the summer, but Ranieri is eager to see the midfielder return for Tuesday's meeting with West Bromwich Albion.

"I don't know now [how serious it is]," FourFourTwo quotes the Italian as saying. "I hope it is not so long because he is important. But Andy King replaced him very, very well.

"He felt something to his hamstring. He always felt something and we manage him during the training sessions. I think it is nothing serious."

Kante has featured 30 times for Leicester in all competitions this season.
