Mark Lawrenson "totally convinced" by Leicester City triumph

Ex-Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has no doubts that Leicester City will hold their nerve and win the Premier League title this season.

Mark Lawrenson has said that he is "totally convinced" Leicester City will win the Premier League title.

The surprise package have the chance to open up a seven-point lead at the top of the table when they take on Southampton this afternoon.

The Foxes were among the favourites to be relegated at the start of the season, but now Lawrenson is certain that they will be celebrating come the end of the campaign.

"Everyone is looking at Leicester as though they are going to crash - they're not," the former Liverpool defender told BBC Sport.

"I thought when they went a few points clear a few weeks ago and played Norwich at home, 'this will tell'. They beat them and Leicester have taken 10 points from the next four games. It totally convinced me they are going to win it."

Leicester need 17 points from their remaining seven games to guarantee the title.
