Leicester City captain Wes Morgan has targeted a winning start to the Premier League season for his side in their opening-day clash against Sunderland.
The Foxes parted company with Nigel Pearson over the summer, despite him guiding the club to a miraculous run to survival in the top flight last season.
Claudio Ranieri arrived as his replacement, and Morgan is determined to get off to the perfect start under the Italian to maintain their form from the end of the last campaign.
He told the club's official website: "Last season we picked up great momentum, performed well and felt like we had a really good grip of how things work in the Premier League. We want to push on from that now this season.
"The team spirit is still here, most of the players are still here and we just want to push on and cement our footing even more in the Premier League. I'm expecting a tough game against Sunderland once again.
"The last game we played against them at their ground was a real battle. Both teams were fighting for survival then and I expect the same again. It's the first game of the season and the energy and tempo will be high. Both teams want to prove a point. It'll be a tough game but we want to be confident and we should be."
Leicester face Sunderland at the King Power Stadium later today.
