Leicester's Nigel Pearson focused on team matters following controversial week

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson says that he is focusing on team matters following a controversial week.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has insisted that he is focused on his team following a controversial week that led to his job being questioned.

Last weekend, media reports emerged claiming that Pearson had been sacked following an incident with Crystal Palace's James McArthur at the King Power Stadium.

The 51-year-old appeared to wrap his hands around McArthur's throat in an incident off the ball during Leicester's 1-0 defeat to Palace, which media outlets initially thought led to his sacking.

However, Leicester, who currently reside at the bottom of the Premier League table, later clarified the situation by claiming that Pearson remained in his job.

"I will be concentrating on the team," Pearson told reporters in today's press conference. "It is not a case of sticking your head in the sand.

"It is about dealing with situations as they arise and my focus is very much on the team and making sure our performance warrants a win, rather than a disappointing result where we have played well.

"I am getting tired of people giving us praise for performances but not getting results. We have got to make that change."

This weekend, Leicester will switch attention to the FA Cup when they take on Aston Villa in the fifth round at Villa Park.
