Leicester City boss Claude Puel has revealed that he intends to hold face-to-face talks with Riyad Mahrez as speculation over the winger's future continues to rumble on.
The Algeria international handed in a transfer request during the summer window in an attempt to force through a move to Roma, who had a number of bids knocked back.
Mahrez instead remained at the King Power Stadium and has shown signs of his best form at times, playing a direct part in 10 goals during Puel's 13-match tenure.
With Premier League rivals Arsenal also said to be interested, Puel has stressed that he does not intend to let his best players leave.
"I like this player and I'd like to keep our best players. We will ask him the question, for me I am happy to play with the team with Riyad, with Jamie [Vardy] and others," he told reporters. "I would like to keep all my best players. It will be important to keep the maximum of our players."
Mahrez netted his seventh league goal of the season in the 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Monday afternoon.
