Leicester City have made an offer for FC Copenhagen defender Daniel Amartey, the Danish club have confirmed.
The 21-year-old, who can play in either defence or midfield, is thought to have been the subject of a £6m bid from the Foxes, who currently sit joint-top of the Premier League table.
Negotiations over the transfer are currently ongoing, with Leicester looking to bring in their second signing of the January window following the arrival of Demarai Gray.
"There are rumours today in the market that FC Copenhagen is planning to sell the football player Daniel Amartey to English club Leicester City," read a statement from FC Copenhagen.
"FC Copenhagen can confirm that it has received an offer for Daniel Amartey from Leicester City. Negotiations between the parties are ongoing."
Amartey has played six times for the Ghana national team and was part of the squad that finished as runners-up in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
