Leicester City announce the signing of central defender Conor Coady from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a three-year deal.

Leicester City have announced the signing of central defender Conor Coady from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a three-year contract.

The 30-year-old has been with Wolves since 2015, making 317 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring seven goals and registering seven assists in the process.

Coady spent last season on loan at Everton, though, making 25 appearances for the Toffees, contributing two goals and one assist.

There has been speculation surrounding the England international's future in recent weeks, but it has now been confirmed that he has joined Leicester on a contract until June 2026.

"I'm absolutely over the moon. I couldn't wait to get down here, to obviously see everyone and get everything signed and boxed off," Coady told LCFC TV after the deal was announced.

"Now I'm here, I'm massively excited. I've been massively excited all summer to be fair and it's something I was desperate to get done.

"I've played against the club numerous times and it's so, so hard playing against Leicester City. That's something we need to take into the season.

"This place is incredible, I think it's the best training ground I've ever seen in my life. It's got absolutely everything so there's no excuses for us going forward into the new campaign.

"Knowing a few of the lads here as well and how they speak of the football club, but looking at Leicester City as a whole, it's such an exciting place to be.

"I'm massively excited about joining so it wasn't a hard decision. As soon as I heard of the interest, it was something I wanted to pursue. I can't wait to get started."

Coady, who has been capped on 10 occasions by England, has made 167 appearances in the Championship during his career, 122 of which came during his time at Wolves.

The defender, thought to have cost in the region of £7.5m, has also played in the second tier of English football for Huddersfield Town, and he will be aiming to help Leicester to return to the top flight at the first time of asking.

Leicester have also confirmed the arrival of Harry Winks from Tottenham Hotspur, with the Foxes starting to put together their squad for the 2023-24 Championship campaign.

James Maddison, Youri Tielemans, Caglar Soyuncu, Daniel Amartey, Ayoze Perez, Nampalys Mendy and Ryan Bertrand have all left the club this summer, while Harvey Barnes is expected to depart in the near future.
