Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy is reportedly deciding between retirement or a move to the Saudi Pro League during the next summer transfer window.

Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy is reportedly prepared to leave the King Power Stadium at the conclusion of the campaign.

Staying with the Foxes during their one-year spell in the Championship, the 37-year-old returned to the top table of English football earlier in the summer.

Vardy has started eight Premier League contests for Leicester so far, making the net ripple on three occasions, including a strike during the 3-2 win over Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

Back-to-back victories for Steve Cooper's men either side of the international break have propelled them up to 14th in the a href="/football/premier-league/table.html">top-flight standings.

Since joining the Foxes from Fleetwood Town in July 2012, Vardy has featured in 472 matches for Leicester, scoring 193 times to cement his status as a club legend.

Leicester icon Vardy to retire next summer?

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Leicester legend Vardy is approaching a critical junction in his rags-to-riches career in the English football pyramid.

The report claims that the 37-year-old is considering the possibility of ending his playing time at the King Power with retirement at the conclusion of the current term.

It is understood that Vardy is set to decide whether he wishes to hang up his boots or accept a lucrative payday from either the Saudi Pro League or Qatari Stars League.

Having only played for FC Halifax Town, Fleetwood and Leicester in professional football, the veteran is yet to ply his trade outside of the English system.

Vardy could join another former England international in Saudi Arabia in the form of Ivan Toney, who moved from Brentford to Al-Ahli over the summer.

Vardy's influence in 2024

Despite turning 38 during the middle of this season, Vardy is continuing to have a major impact for the 2015-16 champions in the Premier League.

The 26-time Three Lions international is tied on top-flight goals with Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Facundo Buonanotte in the Foxes' Golden Boot race.

Vardy will be looking to inflict damage on an East Midlands rival on Friday night as Cooper's troopers host Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
