Charles scored a late winner as Celta Vigo recovered from back-to-back defeats by beating Levante 1-0 in La Liga.
The match was lively from the start, with Jordi Xumetra forcing Sergio Alvarez into a save in the third minute.
Three minutes later, Santiago Mina broke through the Levante defence before seeing his shot tipped over the cross bar by Diego Marino. Ikechukwu Uche then watched his header go narrowly over the bar.
Levante nearly took the lead after 36 minutes when Ruben Garcia directed the ball narrowly past the post, but it was Celta Vigo who came closest to scoring in the first half when Fabian Orellana struck the woodwork.
The second half started with Celta on the front foot as Nolito just missed the post after combining with Joaquin Larrivey.
Orellana should have given Celta the lead in the 58th minute, but he missed the target from close range after Larrivey's cross.
Celta finally broke the deadlock in the 87th minute when Charles converted Nolito's low cross to send them ninth in the La Liga table, with Levante missing the chance to exit the relegation zone.
