Leyton Orient boss Ian Hendon heads League Two Manager of the Month nominees

League Two pacesetters Leyton Orient are nominated for both the Manager and Player of the Month for August, with Ian Hendon and Dean Cox recognised.

Leyton Orient manager Ian Hendon has been nominated for the first Manager of the Month award this season after leading the East London side to the only 100% record in the Football League after five games.

Orient are three points clear at the top of League Two after relegation from League One earlier this year.

Gareth Ainsworth of Wycombe Wanderers and Portsmouth's Paul Cook have also overseen unbeaten starts and are on the shortlist.

The other nominee is Plymouth Argyle boss Derek Adams, whose side have won four and lost one to sit second in the table.

Orient also have a player up for the Player of the Month award, with Dean Cox recognised for his two goals and four assists last month.

Wycombe are also present with defender Aaron Pierre, who helped the Chairboys keep four clean sheets in five games, while the shortlist is completed by strikers Barry Corr of Cambridge United and Carlisle United's Jabo Ibehre.

Corr scored five goals in three games before injury, while Ibehre leads the scoring charts with seven goals in five games.

The winners will be announced on Friday.
