League One roundup: Leyton Orient, Peterborough march on

Leyton Orient and Peterborough United maintain their 100% starts to the League One campaign.

Leyton Orient have maintained their 100% start to the League One campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Stevenage at Broadhall Way.

Kevin Lisbie's 29th-minute strike was sufficient in ensuring that the London-based club remain at the summit of England's third tier.

Peterborough have also collected maximum points from their season thus far following the 2-1 win over Oldham Athletic at London Road.

Goals from Britt Assombalonga - his third in as many matches - and a Lee Tomlin penalty proved enough for Posh, who sit behind the Russell Slade's men in the table on goal difference.

Meanwhile, third-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers left it late to snatch victory away to Bristol City, with Matt Doherty striking an 85th-minute winner to sink the Robins after Jay Emmanuel-Thomas had initially restored parity.

Down at the bottom of the division, Coventry City have continued to minimise their 10-point deduction, having coasted to a 4-0 victory over Carlisle United at Brunton Park, with a double from Leon Clarke ensuring Steven Pressley's men sit just four points away from earning a neutral points-tally.

Elsewhere in League One, MK Dons twice recovered from a goal deficit to earn a 2-2 draw away to Preston North End.

Gillingham and Notts County have earned their first points of the new campaign, with both teams earning a valuable draw against Brentford and Walsall respectively.

Results in full: Bristol City 1-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers, Carlisle United 0-4 Coventry City, Crawley Town 1-2 Rotherham United, Crewe Alexandra 2-1 Tranmere Rovers, Gillingham 1-1 Brentford, Peterborough United 2-1 Oldham Athletic, Port Vale 2-1 Bradford City, Preston North End 2-2 Milton Keynes Dons, Sheffield United 1-1 Colchester, Shrewsbury Town 2-0 Swindon Town, Stevenage 0-1 Leyton Orient, Walsall 1-1 Notts County.
