Salomon Kalou: 'Lille can emulate Paris Saint-Germain'

Salomon Kalou says that Lille can follow in the footsteps of Paris Saint-Germain and progress to the Champions League knockout rounds in the near future.

Lille striker Salomon Kalou believes that his side can qualify for the Champions League and reach the quarter-finals in the near future.

The 27-year-old says that he and his teammates should draw inspiration from fellow French team Paris Saint-Germain, who progressed to the last eight of the competition this season.

"Paris were so close to getting to the semi-final," he told beIN Sport. "I think they were unlucky against Barcelona. I think they could have gone through. If you are in the semi-final, then you have the possibility of winning the Champions League.

"So I think what Paris did this year, Lille can do too, because they have a great coach, that's one, with a beautiful stadium, with amazing fans, and there is no reason why they shouldn't be at that level of the game."

Lille are currently fourth in Ligue 1 with 56 points from 33 matches.
