Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold insists that he is not daunted by the prospect of coming up against Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League.

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has backed manager Jurgen Klopp to get his tactics right in Saturday's Champions League final against Real Madrid.

The Reds will look to end Madrid's European dominance in Kiev following an unexpected run to the final, where they will be bidding to lift the trophy for a sixth time.

Alexander-Arnold is expected to cap his breakthrough season by starting in the Liverpool defence, but the 19-year-old insists that he is not daunted by the situation despite his tender years.

"I have trained for 13 years for these moments, these types of games. You prepare yourself for it without even knowing. I will keep working hard in the next few days to get better, to improve, to get to a new level," he told The Telegraph.

"That is the main thing, to keep striving, to focus on myself and make sure I get a good game. Then there is more chance of me not giving [Cristiano Ronaldo] too many chances to do what he does best.

"It's a game we have to win to win a huge trophy and there are 11 players in our way. The manager will get the tactics spot-on, like he has done, and then hopefully we will be at it. We will have a game plan to execute as well as we can and come home with the trophy."

Alexander-Arnold has made 33 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions this season.
