Steven Gerrard has returned to the Liverpool starting lineup for tonight's crucial Champions League tie at home to Basel.

The Reds captain was named among the substitutes for Saturday's goalless draw with Sunderland in the Premier League.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has made two further changes as Jose Enrique and Joe Allen are both recalled, while Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho and Alberto Moreno all drop to the bench.

Elsewhere, defender Kolo Toure has been ruled out of the match due to a groin injury.
