Harry Kane and Dani Olmo are among six players who will share the Euro 2024 Golden Boot award after finishing the tournament on three goals.

UEFA confirmed on Friday that a rule change by tournament organisers would see the Golden Boot shared purely based on goals scored, after the award was previously given to the player with the most assists when more than one player scored the same number of goals.

This was the case at Euro 2020 when Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo won the Golden Boot despite scoring the same number of goals as Czech Republic's Patrik Schick (five), as the former had registered one more assist.

Spain midfielder Olmo would have won the Golden Boot award outright at previous Euros as he registered more assists (two) than his rivals, but the RB Leipzig man must share the award this year with five others.

Neither Olmo or England captain Kane were able to score in Sunday's final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, with Spain winning 2-1 to clinch a record fourth European Championship title.

Olmo began the tournament as a substitute for Spain, but he made his mark when called upon and scored one goal in victories at the last-16, quarter-final and semi-final stages against Georgia, Germany and France respectively.

Kane, meanwhile, started all seven matches for England and after scoring his first goal of Euro 2024 in a group-stage draw with Denmark, the Bayern Munich striker headed home a vital goal in an extra-time win over Slovakia in the last 16 before converting a penalty in the semi-final success over Netherlands.

Olmo and Kane share the Euro 2024 Golden Boot with Germany's Jamal Musiala, Netherlands's Cody Gakpo, Georgia's Georges Mikautadze and Slovakia's Ivan Schranz.

Musiala was one of Germany's standout performers at their home tournament, scoring a goal in his country's first two group-stage matches against Scotland and Hungary before netting in the last-16 win over Denmark.

Dutch forward Gakpo was another who starred at Euro 2024, netting twice in the group stage against Poland and Austria before producing a man-of-the-match display in the Netherlands' 3-0 last-16 win over Romania, scoring one goal and providing an assist.

Few would have predicted that either Georgia or Slovakia reaching the knockout rounds at Euro 2024, but they both achieved that thanks to the crucial goals scored by Mikautadze and Schranz respectively.

Mikautadze scored for Georgia in all three group games, including two penalties - one of which was in a famous 2-0 win over Portugal - while Schranz scored for Slovakia in group-stage games against Belgium and Ukraine, before netting the opener in the last-16 defeat to England.

Meanwhile, Spain midfielder Rodri has been named Player of the Tournament, while 17-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal has received the Young Player of the Tournament award.
