Hearts are fined £4,000 for a pitch invasion committed by their fans during a second-leg match with Liverpool in the Europa League.

Hearts have been hit with a £4,000 fine by UEFA after a group of fans spilled onto the pitch during their second-leg Europa League clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

The Scottish outfit have been dealt the financial blow due to the small pitch invasion, which occurred during their 1-1 draw with the Reds, which dumped them out of the tournament on aggregate.

Disciplinary proceedings were opened after a number of visiting fans encroached onto the pitch after David Templeton but the Scottish side temporarily in front on Merseyside.

Meanwhile, manager John McGlynn, six players and two staff members are believed to have been paid their monthly wages after a delay.
