A number of forwards have enjoyed impressive campaigns in the top European leagues this season, but it would also be fair to say that there have been a number of excellent double-acts.
The majority of top-level teams now play with one striker, but there is no question that attackers operating in a deeper position or out wide are expected to chip in with their fair share of goals.
Here, Sports Mole takes a look at the 11 top-scoring duos in European football, and there are certainly some familiar names on the list.

1. Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry, 36 goals (Bayern Munich)
The Bayern Munich duo are at the top of this particular list with a combined 36 goals in the Bundesliga during the 2019-20 campaign. Robert Lewandowski has managed 25 strikes in Germany's top flight this term, while Serge Gnabry has chipped in with 11 of his own for the Bundesliga champions.
Lewandowski is actually behind Lazio's Ciro Immobile in the race for the European Golden Boot this season, but the Poland international has enjoyed another excellent campaign, while Gnabry has also continued to impress.
2. Ciro Immobile and Felipe Caicedo, 35 goals (Lazio)
Speaking of Immobile, the centre-forward has enjoyed a remarkable 2019-20 campaign, finding the back of the net on 27 occasions in Serie A, but teammate Felipe Caicedo has also played his part.
Caicedo has actually only completed the full 90 minutes on one occasion in Serie A this term, but the attacker has still managed to contribute eight goals in 21 league outings for the Italian giants, combining with Immobile for a total of 35, just one shy of Lewandowski and Gnabry to occupy second spot.
3. Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, 31 goals (Paris Saint-Germain)
Kylian Mbappe and Neymar are arguably the most exciting double-act on the list, with the former widely regarded as the best young talent in world football. Mbappe has scored 18 times in Ligue 1 this season, while Neymar has contributed 13 goals, making a total of 31 between them.
Both players continue to be linked with moves away from the French champions; indeed, Real Madrid are said to be long-term admirers of Mbappe, while Barcelona allegedly want to re-sign Neymar.
4. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, 30 goals (Barcelona)
It is not a surprise to see Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez high up the selection, with the pair combining for 30 league goals this season. Messi has chipped in with 19, while Suarez has managed 11.
It would be fair to say that both players have had their injury problems this season, though, and Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez could be on his way to Camp Nou as a replacement for Suarez.

5. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, 30 goals (Liverpool)
Two of Liverpool's famous front three, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have again both been in impressive form for the Reds this term. Salah has contributed 16 Premier League goals while Mane has 14, joining Barca duo Messi and Suarez on 30 goals in this particular list.
There has also been speculation surrounding the two attackers in recent weeks, though, with some of the leading clubs in world football allegedly weighing up potential summer offers.
6. Timo Werner and Marcel Sabitzer, 29 goals (RB Leipzig)
Timo Werner's excellent form during the 2019-20 campaign has led to suggestions that he could be heading for Liverpool this summer. The Germany international has managed 21 Bundesliga goals this term, but Marcel Sabitzer also deserves huge credit for his form during the current season.
Indeed, Sabitzer has struck eight times in Germany's top flight, meaning a total of 29 for the Leipzig duo, leaving them in sixth position in the list.
7. Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala, 28 goals (Juventus)
On this list, only Lewandowski and Immobile have outscored Cristiano Ronaldo in the league during the 2019-20 campaign, with the Portuguese managing 21 goals in Italy's top flight.
The second-highest Serie A goalscorer for Juve this season is Paulo Dybala with seven, and it appears that the Argentina international is ready to commit his long-term future to the Old Lady despite being strongly linked with a move away from the Italian giants last summer.
8. Josip Ilicic and Luis Muriel, 28 goals (Atalanta BC)
Atalanta BC have enjoyed another impressive season, occupying fourth spot in Serie A as things stand. The Italian outfit are also represented in this list as two players have been in particularly good scoring form.
Indeed, Josip Ilicic has contributed 15 goals in Serie A during the 2019-20 campaign, while Luis Muriel has managed 13, combining for a total of 28, the same as Ronaldo and Dybala.

9. Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, 28 goals (Inter Milan)
It is not a surprise to see Romelu Lukaku and Martinez on this list as both players have enjoyed strong seasons. Lukaku has struck 17 times in Serie A following a summer move from Manchester United, while Martinez has contributed 11 goals in 22 league outings for Antonio Conte's side.
As mentioned above, Barca continue to be linked with the Argentina international, who has allegedly been identified by the Spanish champions as a long-term replacement for Suarez.
10. Wissam Ben Yedder and Islam Slimani, 27 goals (Monaco)
Principality side Monaco are also represented in this list as forwards Wissam Ben Yedder and Islam Slimani have provided a combined 27 goals between them in Ligue 1 during the 2019-20 campaign.
Indeed, Ben Yedder, who was a regular goalscorer during his time at Sevilla, has managed 18 in the league, while Slimani - on loan from Leicester City - has chipped in with nine.
11. Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling, 27 goals (Manchester City)
Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling just sneak onto the list with 27 goals between them during the 2019-20 campaign. Aguero has managed 16 Premier League strikes this term, while Sterling has contributed 11 in England's top flight.
Sterling was excellent in the first half of the season, but the goals have dried up for the England international in recent months, failing to find the back of the net in the Premier League since December 27.
