Egypt talisman Mohamed Salah is expected to be out for no more than three weeks and will play some part in the World Cup, according to the country's football association.

The Egyptian FA has claimed that Mohamed Salah is unlikely to be sidelined for more than three weeks as this summer's World Cup draws ever closer.

Salah injured his shoulder during Liverpool's Champions League final loss to Real Madrid on Saturday, prompting concerns over his presence in Russia.

Egypt's national team doctor has since met with Salah, and the country's football association now believes that their talisman can play some part in the tournament.

"After the meeting of [president] Abu Rida and the doctor of the national team in Spain today, the Football Association reaffirms Salah in the World Cup, God willing, will not exceed the absence of three weeks," the Egypt FA wrote in a statement.

Egypt's opening World Cup fixture is against Uruguay on June 15, before meeting hosts Russia four days later and wrapping up the group stage with a game against Saudi Arabia on June 25.
